Anderson v1 pg317-318 - letter #302

No doubt you are accusing me, my most excellent Seyfried, of rudeness or lack of politeness, because I have not yet thanked you for all the favours and kindnesses you have shown me.  During the two fast-days I had far too much to do; and since Thursday evening I have had to remain in bed, as I was struck down by a violent fever.  The illness has already subsided, however, and I am up and about again in my room – At the same time I have considered it to be my first duty to express to you at once, my most excellent fellow, my thanks, in writing at any rate.  When I am quite recovered I will express my gratitude to you verbally and in person.

                                                                                Wholly your
